About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to work for our client within the Insurance sector. This is initially a 6- month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for analysing, designing, implementing, and maintaining technology solutions that align with business needs. This role serves as a critical link between business teams, IT departments, and stakeholders, ensuring efficient use of systems and driving process improvements through technology. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with a strong technical background and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects from initiation through post go-live (warranty period), including meticulous planning, ensuring tester availability, and adhering to service transition and operational acceptance documentation requirements
  • Utilise Kanban methodology for effective project management
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses as required by the project manager
  • Document and review weekly project updates with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and various business units
  • Manage multiple application testing phases, including integration, performance, data, and functional testing
  • Coordinate testing processes, including test plan creation, peer review, execution, and sign-off
  • Log defects during the warranty period and manage housekeeping tasks for the applications
  • Create and manage requests for new resources, including onboarding and access requirements
  • Ensure resource availability for specific project activities, such as go-live events
  • Manage access rights and resources for various applications
  • Raise and coordinate service desk requests with various Infrastructure Team areas (e.g., Networks, Wintel, DBA)

About You

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical systems analysis and project management
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, Windows Server, .Net, and SSRS
  • Familiarity with Kanban and other project management methodologies (e.g., SDLC)
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Knowledge of various functional and non-functional testing types (e.g., established testing processes)
  • Proficiency in using ServiceNow
