About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a talented Senior ServiceNow Developer to join their in-house ServiceNow capability, where you’ll be at the forefront of designing and implementing digital workflows that drive enterprise efficiency and informed decision-making. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering value across a broad range of business units through innovative use of the ServiceNow platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and customize solutions within the ServiceNow platform across multiple modules including JavaScript and ServiceNow’s proprietary tools
  • Write and maintain scripts using JavaScript for Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes, and UI Actions
  • Design and implement workflows using Flow Designer and legacy Workflow Editor
  • Develop and maintain Service Portals, including custom widgets, themes, and pages
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs
  • Manage data via Import Sets, Transform Maps, Data Policies, and automated integrations
  • Contribute to configuration management by maintaining the CMDB and leveraging Discovery and Service Mapping
  • Build custom dashboards, reports, and Performance Analytics metrics for data-driven decision-making
  • Define and enforce access control policies using roles and ACLs in alignment with security best practices
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in ServiceNow development and administration experience
  • Track record of working in Agile or Scrum-based teams using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Experience spanning the project lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support
  • Proven ability to engage with non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical designs
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Effective team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities, technologies, and project scopes
  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance

Technical Requirements

  • JavaScript Proficiency – Core scripting language used in ServiceNow
  • ServiceNow Platform Expertise – Familiarity with ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and CMDB
  • Advanced Scripting Skills – Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, etc.
  • Workflow Automation – Flow Designer and legacy Workflow Editor
  • Integration Experience – REST/SOAP API development and consumption
  • Service Portal Development – Custom widgets, themes, and dynamic pages
  • Data Management – Strong understanding of Import Sets, Transform Maps
  • CMDB & Discovery – Asset and configuration item management
  • Analytics and Reporting – Performance Analytics and custom dashboards
  • Security Best Practices – Access Controls (ACLs), data segregation, and role-based access
