Delivery Manager

This is an opportunity to work as Delivery Manager for a leading IT Services organisation based in Telford or Worthing.

We’re the experts in helping service-leavers transition into civilian careers. Our award-winning programme is open to all ranks, services, reservists and spouses, whether you have recently served or are already on civvy street. We recruit all year round for our programme, and have an exciting specific Delivery Manager opportunity with our client in Telford or Worthing.

About the role

This role will see you graduate from the FDM Academy after 6 weeks of client specific training and start your career as a Delivery Manager with our IT services client.

You’ll manage a team of Delivery Managers tasked to deliver a number of digital transformation projects for a key government department. As Team Lead you will be responsible for ensuring all deliveries meet agreed delivery timescales, within cost and to required quality standards. This will involve both understanding the objective, managing and forecasting your team’s workload and capacity, and also facilitating continuous operational improvement, applying the most appropriate agile and lean tools & techniques.

This role will see you establish yourself a senior member of the client’s delivery team and open up opportunities to progress to into a senior delivery management position.

The FDM Ex-Forces Project Management Programme

Our 6 weeks’ fully funded training is designed to build upon your previous leadership and management experience.  You will learn the drivers of business change and how to initiate, plan, control and monitor the delivery of a project. We will help you build upon your existing military experience and develop your knowledge of the Project Life Cycle, Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies and how to operate successfully in a commercial environment.

Upon completion of your training, you will be ready to deploy as a Delivery Manager on site with our client. You will receive continuous guidance from our expert Ex-Forces team throughout your entire journey with us.

Minimum qualifications

  • Strong experience of Agile & Waterfall methodologies
  • Established credentials and track record of previous project and/or service delivery and management of small to medium sized teams
  • Good communicator, ability to influence and coach others
  • Proven ability to forge trusted relationship with clients in line with our business objectives
  • Strong financial management and awareness of commercial management
  • Have an existing industry recognised certification or be working towards certification in Agile Delivery or Project Management
