About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Project Manager located in New York. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 month period but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic initiatives across the business. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects from initiation through completion while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills to successfully drive cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate activities across business, operational, and technical teams.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
  • Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates to sponsors and leadership teams.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Support project governance, change control, and decision-making processes.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations where applicable.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet agreed quality standards and business requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize processes and delivery methods.
  • Maintain project documentation, reporting, and project management artifacts.
  • Support business case development, requirements gathering, and project scoping activities.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability among project teams and stakeholders.

About You

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience managing projects in a corporate, consulting, or client-facing environment.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Risk, issue, and dependency management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum Master, Lean, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of change management and business transformation initiatives.
