About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Finance Data Product Owner to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Cheshire.

Our client is seeking an experienced finance systems professional to take ownership of their reconciliation and finance automation product suite. This role will focus on driving adoption of finance systems, supporting strategic change initiatives, optimising finance processes, and delivering data-driven solutions across Group Finance. The successful candidate will work closely with finance and technology stakeholders to improve controls, automation, reporting and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Own the delivery and continuous improvement of reconciliation platforms and wider finance automation tools
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and system solutions
  • Lead the delivery of system enhancements, defect fixes and strategic project changes
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and data visualisations to support finance decision making
  • Drive process optimisation, data governance and automation initiatives across finance systems 

About You

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or Finance Systems professional within Financial Services
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, accounting principles, financial statements, balance sheets and cash flows
  • Experience working with finance systems, ERP platforms and finance transformation programmes
  • Strong data analysis capability with experience using SQL, Power BI, reporting tools and data management processes
  • Experience delivering change through Agile, Waterfall or hybrid methodologies, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Skills:
 
  • Experience with AutoRek or other reconciliation platforms
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes and finance data governance
  • Experience within insurance, life and pensions, or wider financial services environments
  • Understanding of regulatory and financial reporting requirements
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and supporting business change initiatives
