About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer located in New York City, NY or Alpharetta, GA to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

Description

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Customer IAM Operations team.

The successful candidate will support highly scalable and comprehensive Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience working with IAM systems, strong operational support experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. They should also have a strong interest in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and improving platform stability, security, and operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

Identity & Access Management (IAM)

  • Build, maintain, and optimize enterprise IAM services, assessing system performance and contributing to solutions and improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM solutions across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Resolve complex issues escalated by customers, engineers, and support teams.
  • Support the alignment of IAM infrastructure with current and future business requirements.

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve system architecture, resilience, and scalability.
  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance system security, reliability, availability, and performance through automation and process improvement.
  • Partner with system owners to support business continuity and disaster recovery efforts for IAM platforms.

Operations & Support

  • Monitor and support critical IAM services in a production environment.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation and procedures.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management activities.
  • Participate in periodic on-call support rotations as needed.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of:
    • IAM platforms and products, including solutions such as ForgeRock and Ping Identity.
    • Enterprise networking and security standards, principles, and best practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows and Linux (Red Hat) system administration.
  • Intermediate proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as PowerShell, Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
  • Experience troubleshooting applications and using debugging tools.
  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with operational and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, ServiceNow, Jira, and Jenkins.

Soft Skills

  • Strong interest in Identity and Access Management, directory services, and information security.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create documentation, deliver presentations, and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Comfortable working in operational support environments, including periodic on-call responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.

Experience

  • Previous experience supporting IAM platforms, enterprise applications, or IT operations environments.
  • Experience with production support, system administration, platform operations, or reliability engineering is preferred.
  • ITIL, CISSP, or similar industry certification preferred but not required.
