About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Project Managers to work with our global systems integrator client, supporting a major organisational transformation and operating model design programme. You will play a key role in leading the detailed design and integration of critical functions, helping to shape future organisational structures, governance frameworks, processes, reporting models, and operational outcomes.

This is initially a 6-month assignment starting as soon as possible, with a predominantly remote, UK-based working arrangement and occasional travel to client locations for workshops, stakeholder engagement, and programme activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project management professional who enjoys leading complex transformation initiatives, facilitating collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups, and delivering outcomes within large-scale operational and infrastructure environments.

About the Role:

  • Managing multiple workstreams across large-scale transformation and organisational design programmes
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project plans, delivery schedules, and programme documentation
  • Supporting the development of key documentation required for validation, governance, assurance, and consultation activities
  • Facilitating workshops with subject matter experts, operational leaders, and senior stakeholders
  • Designing workshop outputs and translating findings into actionable programme deliverables
  • Developing, documenting, and tracking programme benefits and outcomes
  • Managing risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and mitigation plans
  • Monitoring delivery progress and ensuring milestones are achieved within agreed timelines
  • Producing programme reporting, status updates, and delivery insights for senior stakeholders
  • Preparing papers, presentations, and briefing materials for Executive Committees and Board-level meetings
  • Supporting governance processes and ensuring programme activities align with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across operational, engineering, safety, people, and leadership teams

About You

Must Have:
  • Proven experience working as a Senior Project Manager within complex business transformation, organisational design, or change programmes
  • Strong experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrable experience producing and maintaining detailed project plans, RAID logs, and delivery reporting
  • Experience facilitating workshops and working with subject matter experts to develop programme outputs
  • Strong governance, reporting, assurance, and milestone management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior executives and leadership teams
  • Experience preparing board-level papers, presentations, and briefing materials
  • Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and delivery-focused, able to work effectively within complex programme environment
Nice to Have:
  • Experience supporting organisational design, operating model design, or integration programmes
  • Experience working within transport, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience working across safety, security, sustainability, occupational health, or operational risk functions
  • Experience managing people, process, governance, and reporting transformation initiatives
  • Consultancy or systems integration experience.
  • Experience working within large, geographically dispersed organisations undergoing significant change
    PRINCE2, MSP, AgilePM, APM, or equivalent project management qualifications.
Working Arrangements:
  • Predominantly remote (UK-based)
  • Occasional travel to client locations as required
  • Working closely with programme leadership, subject matter experts, operational stakeholders, and executive teams
  • Opportunity to contribute to a major organisational transformation and operating model design programme
  • Strong potential for extension based on programme demand
  • No direct line management responsibility
