Front-End Developer- Remote

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking Senior Front-End Developers to work with our global systems integrator client, supporting a major enterprise technology modernisation programme. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing modern digital services that support the delivery of high-volume business processes and critical user journeys. This is initially a 5 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a remote role with occasional travel to Telford.

About the Role

We are seeking Senior Front-End Developers to design, build, modernise, and support critical digital services as part of a large-scale technology transformation programme.

The role is delivery-focused, supporting the modernisation of a long-established business-critical platform through the development of modern user interfaces and digital experiences. You will be responsible for translating user, business, and technical requirements into robust front-end solutions, ensuring applications are accessible, performant, secure, and aligned with programme objectives.

You will form part of a blended delivery team working alongside client and consultancy stakeholders, contributing to the successful delivery of multiple products within a dynamic programme environment. The role will involve both the development of new capabilities and the enhancement of existing services.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining modern front-end applications using React and TypeScript
• Supporting the modernisation and enhancement of existing digital services and user journeys
• Translating business and user requirements into scalable and supportable front-end solutions
• Building secure, responsive, and accessible user interfaces across desktop and mobile devices
• Developing applications using modern React frameworks and server-side rendering patterns
• Collaborating with UX, Product, and Technical teams to refine requirements and solution designs
• Creating reusable components and contributing to shared design systems and component libraries
• Integrating front-end applications with REST APIs and backend services
• Producing high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code
• Supporting testing, defect resolution, deployment, and live service activities
• Contributing to code reviews and promoting front-end engineering best practices
• Producing and maintaining technical documentation for developed solutions
• Ensuring solutions adhere to accessibility, security, governance, and quality standards
• Providing progress updates and delivering development activities within agreed timelines
• Mentoring junior developers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the wider engineering team
