About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a major operational transformation and mobilisation programme within a large enterprise environment.

This is an opportunity to join a high-profile transformation initiative, working closely with senior stakeholders to help shape future operating models, drive strategic change, and deliver operational improvements across the business. This is a 3 month contract with strong potential to extend and based in Cheshire.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will work directly with senior leadership to understand operational challenges, establish priorities, and drive transformation initiatives from planning through to execution.

The role requires someone who can thrive in ambiguity, bring structure and governance to complex programmes, and balance immediate business needs with long-term transformation goals.

Responsibilities:

Lead the planning and delivery of strategic transformation initiatives.
Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand current operational challenges and define future priorities.
Develop and maintain project plans, transformation roadmaps, and delivery schedules.
Drive mobilisation activities across multiple workstreams.
Establish governance frameworks, reporting processes, and delivery controls.
Identify opportunities to improve services, processes, and operating models.
Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder communications.
Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and decision-making forums.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.
Support and guide project teams through periods of change and transformation.
Balance tactical delivery requirements with longer-term strategic objectives.

About You

Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering complex transformation or business change programmes.
Experience supporting operational, service, or operating model transformation initiatives.
Proven ability to engage and influence senior leadership stakeholders.
Strong project governance, planning, risk, and dependency management expertise.
Ability to work effectively within evolving and ambiguous environments.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
Strategic mindset with a willingness to remain hands-on when required.
Experience managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities.

Desirable:

Consulting or advisory background.
Experience leading operational readiness or mobilisation activities.
Experience working within regulated environments such as Financial Services or Insurance.
PRINCE2, PMP, APM, Agile or equivalent project management qualifications.
