About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Production Support Engineer located in Cary, North Carolina to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 Months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

About You

Salary: $100,000 per year
Working Hours: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Experience: 8+ years

The successful candidate will have a strong background in production support, with hands-on expertise across Unix, SQL, Geneos, Splunk, and Java-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide hands-on production support for business-critical applications within a Corporate Banking technology environment.
Monitor application health, performance, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving production issues.
Investigate incidents using Unix, SQL, Splunk, Geneos, and other monitoring and diagnostic tools.
Troubleshoot issues across applications built using Java-based technologies.
Perform root cause analysis and support the resolution of recurring production issues.
Work closely with development, infrastructure, and other technology teams to troubleshoot complex application and system issues.
Manage production incidents through to resolution, ensuring clear communication and appropriate escalation where required.
Support application releases, deployments, and production changes.
Identify opportunities to improve application stability, monitoring, and overall production support processes.
Maintain clear technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge-base materials.

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years of professional technology experience, with a strong background in production or application support.
Strong hands-on experience working with Unix/Linux environments.
Advanced knowledge of SQL, including the ability to investigate and troubleshoot data-related issues.
Experience using Geneos for application and infrastructure monitoring.
Strong experience with Splunk for log analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting applications built with Java-based technologies.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues within enterprise production environments.
Strong understanding of incident management, problem management, and production support processes.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams.
