This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London, with approximately 3 days per week in the office.

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support regulatory and operational change initiatives within its Capital Markets Tax Operations function. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Tax, Product and Technology teams to analyse complex business processes, gather and document requirements, support system enhancements and drive improvements linked to evolving international tax regulations. This role would suit a candidate with strong Business Analysis experience within Financial Services and exposure to Tax Operations, Custody, Asset Servicing or broader Capital Markets Operations environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed data analysis using Excel to support business and regulatory initiatives.

  • Gather, document and manage business requirements for enhancements to in-house applications using established project management standards.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Tax Operations, Taxation teams and other business stakeholders to identify, analyse and implement solutions.
  • Track project deliverables, risks and dependencies, providing status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Identify process gaps, control weaknesses and operational inefficiencies, recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Develop business cases to support new initiatives, process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Create and execute test cases and support User Acceptance Testing activities.
  • Support the delivery of regulatory change initiatives relating to international tax operations and tax reclaim processes.
  • Develop and implement tactical solutions where strategic technology enhancements are not immediately available.

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years' Business Analyst experience within Financial Services, ideally supporting regulatory change or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets Operations, Securities Operations or wider Investment Banking Operations environments.
  • Experience supporting Tax Operations functions, including exposure to international tax reclaim processes and regulatory change initiatives.
  • Knowledge of German MiKa DIV regulations and the OECD FASTER Initiative.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting and manipulation of large datasets.
  • Proven experience gathering, documenting and managing business requirements across complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strong business process mapping experience using Microsoft Visio or similar process modelling tools.
  • Experience creating functional specifications, business process documentation and end-to-end workflow diagrams.
  • Experience developing and executing UAT test cases and supporting testing activities throughout project delivery.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of operational controls, risk management and process governance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience engaging senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively across Operations, Tax, Product and Technology teams.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Tax or a related discipline.
  • Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent.
