About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Architect in New York to work for our client within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevSecOps practices, cloud platforms, and security frameworks. This role involves assessing the current state of DevSecOps, assisting in the creation of a DevSecOps Playbook, and implementing best practices across our infrastructure. Additionally, the DevSecOps Architect will evaluate the current "as is" state and provide recommendations via a detailed roadmap for improving DevSecOps practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • DevSecOps Assessment:- Evaluate the current state of DevSecOps within the organization, focusing on infrastructure knowledge. Identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Playbook Creation:- Assist in the development of a comprehensive DevSecOps Playbook, incorporating best practices such as Test Driven Development (TDD) and Security by Design.
  • Cloud Platform Expertise:- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC), hybrid/multicloud implementations, and containerization/orchestration technologies.
  • Communication:- Exhibit excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Release/Deployment:- Manage and optimize release and deployment processes.
  • Security Frameworks:- Apply knowledge of security frameworks, including SAST and DAST automation security testing, with potential pentesting experience.
  • Automation:- Implement and manage automation processes to enhance efficiency and security.
  • Transformation:- Lead transformation initiatives to improve DevSecOps practices.
  • Configuration Management:- Oversee configuration and reconfiguration of systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Roadmap Development:- Develop a detailed roadmap for improving DevSecOps practices, based on the assessment of the current state. Provide actionable recommendations and timelines for implementation.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in DevSecOps, with a strong understanding of infrastructure and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including hybrid and multicloud environments.
  • Proficiency in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with security frameworks and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to lead and manage transformation projects.
  • Experience in evaluating current DevSecOps practices and developing improvement roadmaps.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with IaC and CaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with SAST and DAST tools (e.g., SonarQube, OWASP ZAP).
  • Pentesting experience is a plus.
  • Certification in relevant DevSecOps or cloud technologies.
