Digital Solutions Developer - London

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Digital Solutions Developer to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

The Digital Solutions Developer role is a key position that reports to the Head of Technology Solutions. The role covers a wide variety of technologies and involves working on multiple projects at the same time, each with different scale, scope and focus. The work will consist of developing innovative solutions with well-chosen technologies, ensuring that they are documented, reliable, robust and easy to maintain.  You will be managing existing solutions, providing break-fix support when required. A significant part of the role will involve working with teams across the business, providing advisory services and improving the digital literacy of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with teams across the business to implement innovative solutions for their unmet needs, advising and upskilling the team members where possible
• Design, build and maintain software infrastructure within appropriate monitoring, alerting, maintainability, and performance parameters
• Develop automation scripts to enhance product deployment and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Technology Solutions team to prioritise work in a structured, transparent way
• Work may at various points include all aspects of traditional software development as well as technical analysis, training, presentations, documentation, and research
• Engaging with colleagues at all levels of seniority, but also taking responsibility for a share of the administrative work within the team

Requirements

• Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to create high quality process documentation and diagrams
• Proven capability of working in a remote team, making effective use of synchronous and asynchronous communication channels as appropriate
• Demonstrable interest in delivering IT and business change, and ongoing self-education through a variety of mediums.
• A passion for technology and learning and a generalist who has a desire to dig in and learn about technical subjects when required
• Impeccable integrity and commitment to excellence
