About The Role

FDM is seeking a Project Manager in Whippany, NJ to work for our client within the financial services sector. This role is initially for 6 months and will be hybrid working and you would be expected to be in the Whippany, NJ office 2-3 days per week.

This role will lead and coordinate initiatives within the Risk Team, focusing on projects related to Capital Planning, Stress Testing, and Basel III frameworks. The role involves managing complex global delivery teams, working within Scaled Agile methodologies, and ensuring successful execution of risk-related projects. Strong stakeholder management, communication skills, and a proactive learning mindset are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for risk-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets while mitigating risks and resolving issues.
  • Drive projects focused on Capital Planning, Stress Testing, and Basel III frameworks, leveraging prior knowledge of these areas.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Technology, and Operations to define project requirements and ensure successful delivery.
  • Navigate a complex, matrixed organizational structure to maintain alignment and resolve competing priorities effectively.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Work within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), promoting Agile best practices and facilitating Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups).
  • Coordinate global delivery teams, ensuring effective communication and seamless execution across regions and functions.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including plans, reports, and risk assessments.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, SAFe Agilist) preferred.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with a focus on financial services, risk, or regulatory compliance.
  • Prior knowledge of Capital Planning, Stress Testing, and Basel III frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing large-scale, complex projects with global delivery teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Trello).
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and align diverse teams in a matrix management environment.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
