About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Commercial Lead to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

As an experienced Commercial Lead, you will act as team lead, providing direction and management for all vendor facing and business facing activities within their categories and business areas. You will manage a portfolio of vendors and contracts as well as being a point of escalation for contract and business-related issues for the team. You will be responsible for ensuring that the client obtains the most cost-effective market data services to meet business requirements.

This role requires someone who is a team player, can work under their own initiative and has strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial negotiations with relevant Market Data vendors and liaise with business and legal to ensure favourable commercial terms which meet business requirements and yet mitigate business risk
  • Manage overall business relationship with assigned business area
  • Ensuring the client leverages its global purchasing power with the vendors and undertaking proactive management of the global contracts on behalf of all relevant internal stakeholders
  • Working to simplify and streamline procedures for workflow, contract management and invoice payment
  • Ensuring that all the terms of all global deals are communicated to the relevant entities who are entitled to participate in them, and managing the compliance to any vendor terms and conditions
  • Chairing regular meetings with vendors and Business within categories
  • Ensuring best practice is put in place for negotiation of all market data purchases
  • Ensure team adheres to client’s procurement sourcing and supplier management process
  • Manage team training and development

About You

Requirements

  • Higher economic, business, technical, legal or finance education degree
  • Major market data vendor knowledge and understanding of different functional areas of a bank
  • Understanding of Finance & cost allocation process
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Investment Banking or Financial Markets industry experience, specifically within a Market Data BA and/or Vendor Manager role
  • Global multimillion £ value contract negotiations
  • Regional/global market data inventory management and cost allocation
  • People management experience
  • Proven knowledge of Market Data Vendor Management and contract negotiations
  • Strong administration and market data product knowledge
  • Market Data Banking functions knowledge
  • Good understanding of market data inventory systems, processes and procedures
