About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a DevOps Engineer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Leeds.

Our client is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to help design, implement, and manage their cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This role will require you to work closely with developers and IT teams to enhance our development and operational processes, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of our applications. The client is keen to find someone who can support 13 Legacy Data Platforms running on Windows Server and SQL Server.

Responsibilities

  • Respond and resolve incidents promptly
  • Troubleshoot & diagnose to minimise downtime and impact on users
  • Lead RCAs to identify underlying causes of recuring problems or events
  • Setting up, fixing, improving deployment pipelines and CI/CD
  • Monitor the performance and health of systems and infrastructure, ensuring they run efficiently
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to prevent issues
  • Continuous Improvement activities including automation to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
  • Onboard a new Data Platform (eCollection) into the Run and Maintain team

About You

Requirements

  • Must have live SC Clearance
  • Experienced in driving DevOps including tools, ways of working, and culture
  • Able to facilitate information/business knowledge
  • Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs & how to support this into an efficient DevOps team
  • Effective Stakeholder Management
  • Ability to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively & efforts are placed correctly
  • Able to speak to stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
Technical Requirements
  • Expert in Teamcity/Octopus
  • Experienced in working with Windows Servers and SQL Servers
  • Experienced in work with Cloud technologies and specifically Azure
  • SQL programming
  • Experienced working in Agile (Scrum and Kanban)
  • Experienced in Jira Store artefacts / information in Confluence
  • Github
