About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Operations Analyst to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an Operations Analyst who can provide support for the Commodities business, working closely with sales, trading, and clients to resolve queries and issues related to trade booking and reconciliation breaks.  You will play a key role in maintaining crucial reference data for the business and will monitor exception reports. You will be involved with important stages in the trade life cycle, building a working knowledge of Commodities Futures and Options and internal systems.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Front Office, helping to provide operational control and support for the Commodities business
  • Ensure that all trades are booked as intended; by performing and array of daily trade validation and reconciliation checks
  • Ensuring the accurate and disciplined application of the client’s trade controls
  • Act as an intermediary between the Trading desk and other areas of the client
  • Resolves issues to ensure that breaks are resolved effectively in Controllers, Settlements and Confirmations areas
  • Identify the right levels of control and measures required, building a strong yet flexible workflow
  • Liaise with IT and projects groups to initiate new controls and build STP to improve the firms infrastructure and facilitate growth by maintaining static reference data

 

About You

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in Experience in Commodities, derivatives, or Trade Support
  • Able to handle multiple work streams and prioritise effectively
  • Dedicated to learning from experience and mistakes
  • History of actively ensuring existence of mitigating controls and take personal responsibility for enhancing processes
  • Able to combine clear and appropriate escalation with suggestions on appropriate risk reduction strategies
  • Exceed expectations and respond actively and positively to changing circumstances
