About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a .NET Software Engineer to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior C# .NET Developer to join our client's Commodities Technology team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on C# and .NET technologies. This role involves working on innovative projects within the commodities sector, developing and maintaining high-quality software solutions that support our trading and risk management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of applications using C# and .NET technologies tailored for commodities trading
  • Support the design and implementation of WCF and RESTful services to facilitate real-time data processing and integration
  • Utilise parallel programming techniques, including multi-threading and TPL, to enhance application performance
  • Write and optimize SQL queries and work with relational databases to manage large datasets
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and .NET Core applications for automation and system management
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build and release management, ensuring seamless deployment of updates
  • Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns to create robust and scalable software solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders and risk managers, to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs

About You

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET
  • Good understanding of WCF and RESTful services
  • Basic knowledge of parallel programming (multi-threading/TPL)
  • Basic SQL and RDBMS knowledge
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, .NET Core, CI/CD, XML, and Python
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Development (OOP) and Design Patterns
  • Good understanding of automated build and release management
  • Experience in the commodities trading sector
