About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Architect to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a Data Architect who will oversee the design of enterprise data models, ensuring alignment with the client’s data strategy. You will play a strategic role in ensuring models are appropriately implemented across multiple projects. Additionally, they provide expertise in data governance, innovation, and life cycle management while ensuring compliance with Government Digital Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Advising project teams on data architecture best practices
  • Overseeing the full data product life cycle, including data analysis and synthesis, data governance, data innovation & modelling, metadata management, data warehousing & lifecycle management and data science and strategy implementation
  • Enterprise data models (conceptual rather than physical)
  • Understanding how data flows through systems and integrates with other business platforms
  • Working alongside a Solution Architect, supporting strategic data design
  • Master data governance, specifically within Salesforce for organisational data
  • Architectural oversight across data platform and AI projects
  • Responsible for guiding data projects through governance processes and aligning with data strategy

About You

Requirements

  • Public sector or grant-giving organisation experience
  • Demonstrable experience in AI or data modelling
  • Strong understanding of Government Digital Standards, privacy, and security regulations
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies and governed projects
  • Hands-on experience with database platforms (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Proficiency in data modeling and database design
  • Understanding of metadata management, data governance, and data quality principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
