About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Migration Business Analyst to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Edinburgh.

Our client is seeking a talented Business analyst who has experience in data migration. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large data sets and will have protection domain knowledge. Our client has bought a book of protection policies from a provider and this person will join the team responsible for migrating these systems to our client’s systems.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements related to data migration projects
  • Perform gap analysis between current and future state data environments
  • Define data mapping rules and transformation logic in collaboration with data engineers
  • Assist in the design and execution of data quality checks and validation processes
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and working sessions to align on migration strategy
  • Support the development of data migration plans, schedules, and risk assessments
  • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and implemented
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and post-migration validation efforts

 

About You

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst
  • Minimum of 4 years demonstrable experience working in Data Migration
  • Involvement in previous data mapping and associated activities
  • Involvement in previous migration programmes
  • Working knowledge of ipolicy would be advantageous
  • Experience within financial, insurance and/or pension industry would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong leadership skillset in terms of planning and organisation to drive project elements through to completion
