About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Security Business Analyst to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Leeds.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and design of secure business processes across retail, e-commerce, and enterprise systems.
  • Map and document process flows, data flows, and threat models to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support vulnerability management, risk assessments, and remediation planning.
  • Translate security requirements into clear, actionable business and technical specifications.
  • Engage stakeholders across IT, digital, and operations to embed security into systems and workflows from the outset.
  • Support the implementation of security controls aligned with NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS frameworks.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of security practices through process optimization and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate technical security concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About You

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior or Principal Business Analyst in a security-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including vulnerability management, identity and access management (IAM), and risk management.
  • Proficiency in using process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or BPMN.
  • Familiarity with retail systems and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, along with agile delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in security and business process contexts.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-paced, security-conscious environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or BCS Business Analysis are considered a plus.
