About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a DevOps Engineer to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Farnborough.

Our client is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking DevOps Engineer to play a key role in driving automation, efficiency, and quality across their engineering and release processes. This role is instrumental in aligning the client’s products with a shared CI/CD pipeline, promoting DevOps best practices, and improving the stability and effectiveness of their certification environment.

You will work closely with engineering teams, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and release management to streamline delivery workflows and ensure a robust, automated path to production. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about automation, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and thrives in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering teams, SREs, and release managers to design and implement a clear path toward fully automated production releases
  • Continuously evaluate and improve technical processes to enhance release quality, speed, and reliability
  • Promote the value and benefits of automation and continuous delivery across technical teams
  • Communicate DevOps improvements and demonstrate their impact to stakeholders through tangible results
  • Analyse current usage and performance of the certification environment
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to improve stability, reduce issues, and increase operational efficiency

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in DevOps role
  • Strong experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, and Nexus
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Gradle and Groovy
  • Practical experience with Ansible for automated deployment and configuration management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage ambiguity and drive outcomes independently
  • Experience integrating automated QA testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with WebSphere deployment processes
