About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in one of the many locations in the UK including Liverpool. London, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Business Analyst to join their team and lead the delivery of large and complex projects that have a strategic impact across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping services, improving systems, and delivering measurable value.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to drive business transformation and ensure solutions meet the needs of both users and stakeholders. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior analysts, and influence best practices while engaging with a wide range of stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of large or complex projects within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Define and agree on delivery scope, priorities, and approach in line with agile or other methodologies
  • Maintain and grow stakeholder relationships, acting as the primary point of contact across business areas
  • Mentor and support junior analysts and contribute to the ongoing development of the Business Analysis community of practice
  • Drive continuous improvement through the design and implementation of improved business processes and services
  • Lead business modelling activities, including systems and data analysis, to support effective decision-making
  • Conduct detailed business analysis to identify problems, assess options and define solutions that realise benefits early
  • Oversee the definition, documentation and management of functional and non-functional requirements across the delivery lifecycle
  • Recommend and apply appropriate testing strategies and acceptance criteria to ensure business needs are met
  • Support user experience analysis and contribute to the design of services and systems that are user-centred and deliver measurable value

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience defining, negotiating and delivering outcomes within agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Strong capability in conducting complex business analysis to identify issues and opportunities, and inform strategic planning
  • Experience in leading business modelling efforts, managing change impacts and aligning systems with business goals
  • Demonstrated success in business process improvement, including testing and evaluating proposed enhancements
  • Skilled in managing the full lifecycle of requirements, including prioritisation, validation and traceability through design, build and test
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with a track record of influencing at senior levels
  • Proficient in systems analysis and supporting the design and development of digital services
  • Familiar with user experience analysis and applying a range of techniques to ensure solutions are user-focused
  • Experience in supporting testing activities, including the development of business scenarios and test plans
