FDM is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer located in Halifax to support a project in the Banking sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week.

About You

The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) solutions for applications supported by the Compliance IT organization. As the Engineering arm of Technology and Operations, this team will work collaboratively with Delivery arm of the same organization and any other IT partners required to succeed in its mandate. The incumbent will need intermediate knowledge and experience working in an application development and/or technology operations organization. Perform production support role and partner with the SRE Delivery team in incident management and problem management. This role will be on rotating shifts between 4:00 - 12:00 am and 12:00 - 8:00 am. 

What do you need to succeed?

 Must-have

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a variety of SRE languages and tools (Dynatrace Managed, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Confluence, Jira, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to document and escalate manual repeatable support tasks to facilitate 360-degree monitoring solution and process improvements
  • Ability to prioritize requests and work under minimal supervisions during off business hours
  • Intermediate knowledge of industry practices, with a focus on SRE
  • Ability to review prior Incidents, conduct requirement gap analysis or root-cause analysis and convey to stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with job scheduler like Zeke, Stonebranch, Autosys, Airflow
  • Intermediate experience in a variety of environments (Cloud, Linux/Unix/Windows and services/APIs, databases)
  • Prior Incident and problem management skills with understanding of SRE concepts and ITIL Principles
  • Experience with troubleshooting using logs, Grafana, Moog, Dynatrace
