About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Manager to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Business Manager who will be responsible for the delivery of operational and cost management excellence in Group Functions IT. You will provide leadership in its business operations, financial performance management, management information, governance, workforce planning, innovation and continuous improvement. You will work closely with other IT Business Managers across the organisation to ensure alignment to strategic initiatives with a combined commitment to provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate key cross-cutting initiatives and operational activities across Group Functions IT. Championing identification of operations model improvements while supporting the team in adopting a customer centric best practice across all areas
  • Establish and maintain the annual operating plan for Group Functions IT aligned with the Corporate and Group Functions IT Strategy including Learning & Development, resource plans, KPI, key initiatives and priorities
  • Lead Group function IT financial management and vendor spend management, collaborating with the finance team while leading the creation of insights, pursuing sustainable cost saving opportunities, ensuring excellent financial discipline across the area
  • Manage Group Functions IT workforce planning, ensuring accurate headcount controls and execution of workforce processes (furloughs, role migrations) with high-quality of supply as well as demand data aligned across systems and tools
  • Work with hiring managers and teams globally to execute against resource plans and ensure resource demand is met, aligning to HR strategy while supporting employee on-boarding
  • Lead and deliver innovation across Group Functions IT to drive increased user experience, efficiency, and enhanced ways of working aligned to Group Function IT Strategy
  • Execute internal and external communication and engagement strategies, ensuring initiatives and events drive desired outcomes while shaping agendas and content for key meetings, representing the IT Director as needed
  • Ensure line management of Group Functions Business Management team, making sure the team feel valued and supported, contributing effectively to the success
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, demonstrating the ability to adapt to a changing technology and business environments while developing and presenting the catalogue of services provided by Group Functions IT to various business units

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Business Manager
  • Stakeholder Management and engagement skills
  • Hands on experience in operating model design and implementation, optimising processes and improving operational efficiency
  • Experience in setting and monitoring Key Performance Indicators to assess Performance
  • Strategic planning skills with experience in workforce management
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experienced in leading and managing a team fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Experience with managing and adapting to changes within the business environment
  • Strong experience in identifying, managing and delivering continuous improvement across multiple delivery areas
  • Experience in establishing and maintain fit for purpose governance in an IT and business context
  • Strong understanding of effective Financial Management process, ideally within an IT organisation
  • Contractual Management experience

Desirable

  • Good knowledge of Automation, AI and Microsoft 365 tools and capabilities
