About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer located in New York City to support a project in the finance sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially one year but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage secure access controls and privileged access solutions across hybrid environments.
  • Support the hardening and ongoing security of Linux and Windows based systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Integrate identity and access management solutions with enterprise systems to support secure authentication and authorization workflows.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, compliance, and risk teams to ensure security controls meet internal policies and external regulatory expectations.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed, audit-ready documentation for configurations, procedures, and security controls.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during audits, incident response, and security investigations.

About You

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a focus on access control, system security, and infrastructure protection.
  • Strong background in Linux and Windows system administration and security, including system hardening and secure configuration management.
  • Experience integrating and managing identity and access management (IAM) solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to the financial sector (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, FFIEC, SOX).
  • Proven ability to produce clear, comprehensive, and actionable documentation.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proficiency in scripting or automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles and hybrid infrastructure models.
  • Proven experience administering and integrating CyberArk Privilege Cloud in enterprise environments.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing Enterprise grade EDR, DLP, AI/ML Security and similar products.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent).
