About this role

Coach in the Skills Lab serve as mentors who guide consultants through hands-on learning, provide tailored feedback, and help them build confidence in applying skills in real-world scenarios. They bridge the gap between theory and practice, enhancing skill mastery and retention. In addition to assessing candidates’ readiness to join FDM, Coaches support Sales by analysing client needs and aligning Skills Lab offerings accordingly.

Coach may also be deployed to client sites to continue coaching consultants during their transition. This on-site engagement enables them to provide real-time support, gain deeper insight into client projects, technologies, and expectations, and ensure smoother integration. These insights are then shared with the Skills Lab to continuously improve training content and delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead engaging Skills Lab sessions that promote hands-on learning.
  • Provide personalized feedback and support tailored to individual consultant needs.
  • Assess consultant performance through observation, interviews, and assessment tools.
  • Deliver constructive feedback, document assessment results, and log coaching conversations.
  • Design and implement practical projects aligned with learning objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivating learning environment.
  • Participate in recruitment by evaluating candidates’ ability to learn and apply new concepts.
  • Conduct mock interviews tailored to industry roles and expectations.
  • Guide consultants in creating professional resumes using FDM templates.
  • Support Sales by acting as a subject matter expert during client calls and proposal development.
  • Serve as a technical mentor within Consultant PODs, offering guidance on problem-solving.
  • Travel to client sites to support consultants during their initial placement.
  • Provide on-site coaching to ease consultant transitions and ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Observe and document client technologies, workflows, and skill requirements.
  •  Share client insights with Skills Lab leadership to inform and improve training programs.

About You

What we look for
  • Postgraduate degree (or higher) in an IT-related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Strong ability to quickly learn new technologies and produce training materials
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, both technical and functional
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders on technical solutions
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies

  • Programming: JavaScript, PHP, ASP, AJAX, Java (preferably Enterprise Java), C#, ASP .Net, ADO .Net
  • Front-End Frameworks: AngularJS, Angular 7, NodeJS, React, KnockoutJS
  • Mobile Development: Android, PhoneGap, Cordova, Objective-C, Swift
  • Testing & Automation: Selenium, Cucumber, Kubernetes, Jasmine, Karma, JSPerf, JSFiddle
  • DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Docker, Git, Puppet, Snort, Splunk
  • System Administration: Windows Server, UNIX
  • Legacy Systems: COBOL, Mainframe
  • Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, other RDBMS
  • Data & Analytics: Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft SSIS, Cloud Analytics
  • Enterprise Tools: ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, Clarity
  • UI/UX Design: MS Visio, Axure, SketchFlow
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
  • Infrastructure: Datacenter and enterprise network administration
  • Cybersecurity: Penetration testing, ethical hacking, secure coding, security best practices and tools
  • Business Practices: Product Management and Agile methodologies
