About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Data Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 3-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Edinburgh, Cheshire East or Glasgow. 

Our client is seeking a Business Data Analyst to support the AMPS project, which involves migrating a closed Aegon Life/Protection book into our client's ALIS platform. This role will focus on assessing the impact of onboarding Aegon data on 400+ reports across ALIS and downstream MI systems, ensuring functionality and identifying any additional data requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse existing reports and MI systems to determine the impact of data migration.
  • Identify gaps, additional data items, and configuration changes required for successful migration.
  • Develop and execute complex SQL queries to validate data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure ALIS functionality and configuration meet business needs.
  • Document findings and provide recommendations for remediation or enhancement.

About You

  • Expert-level SQL for data validation and migration analysis.
  • Strong experience in data migration projects within financial services.
  • Proven ability in requirements gathering, impact analysis, and data modelling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar roles.
