About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work for our client within the Public Sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend, and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Manchester.

We’re hiring an experienced Business Analyst to support the successful delivery of ERP programmes across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and HR. You’ll partner with business SMEs and technical teams to capture requirements, map processes, design future-state solutions, and ensure the ERP configuration, integrations, and data migration meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead workshops to elicit business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, process maps (As-Is/To-Be), and gap analyses.
  • Maintain a traceable requirements backlog and ensure alignment to programme scope and business case.
  • Document end-to-end processes
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to validate configuration, roles/authorisations, and workflow logic.
  • Support reporting/analytics needs (financial reporting, operational dashboards, KPIs).
  • Ensure documentation is auditable and compliant
  • Conduct demos and show-and-tell sessions with stakeholders to drive clarity and buy-in.
  • Facilitate decisions with product owners, SMEs, and vendors; manage RAID items relevant to BA scope.
  • Provide clear, concise updates: status, risks, dependencies, and benefits tracking.

About You

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in public sector projects
  • Experience with ERP programmes (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365, NetSuite)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools like Jira, Confluence
  • Proficiency in business process modelling  
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
