About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Analyst to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Edinburgh.
 
FDM is partnering with a major client to support a large-scale data migration programme. They are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to  ensure data is accurately understood, migrated, validated and governed throughout the programme lifecycle. You will work closely with technical teams, delivery partners and business stakeholders to support high‑quality data migration outcomes aligned to Group Data Office standards.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop a clear understanding of source and target data models and how they are supported through ETL processes
  • Assess solutions and ETL components to ensure migrated data meets operational and business requirements
  • Support the Data Reconciliation Approach in alignment with Group Data Office standards and delivery partners
  • Apply the Data Quality Approach, including supporting the Data Quality application and associated controls
  • Manage and maintain the Data Quality log, ensuring visibility, prioritisation and accurate reporting of metrics
  • Provide oversight for data validations and reconciliations throughout the migration lifecycle
  • Identify and document risks and issues, ensuring appropriate mitigation actions are in place
  • Support governance forums and workstreams, including Working Groups, RAID forums, and coordination with delivery partners

About You

  • Strong experience as a Data Analyst within complex data migration or transformation programmes
  • Solid understanding of data models, ETL processes, and data flows across source and target systems
  • Proven experience with data reconciliation, validation techniques, and data quality frameworks
  • Ability to work with Data Quality tools, logs and metrics to support issue resolution and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify risks, issues and dependencies
  • Experience collaborating with delivery partners, technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Familiarity with programme governance, documentation standards and structured delivery environments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical detail clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
