About The Role

Build the systems behind smarter decisions  
Data engineering turns information into something teams can use. You could build pipelines, connect systems, improve data quality, support cloud platforms, or make data easier to trust.  
 
Training starts in FDM's Skills Lab, followed by assignments with leading Australian and global organisations. We match you to an assignment based on your strengths, interests, and career goals.

Your first 12 weeks  
You will build skills in SQL, Python, Excel, BI tools, agile delivery, data integration, and AI fundamentals. You will learn how reliable data supports better decisions.  
 
Roles you could move into  
  • Data Engineer: build and maintain pipelines that give teams clean, reliable information.  
  • Technical Analyst: investigate issues, document requirements, and support delivery.  
  • Release Coach: help teams plan and release technology changes safely.  
 Where it leads: Your path can open into data engineering, cloud data, technical analysis, or release management roles.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, math's, statistics, IT, or a related technical field  
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking  
  • Clear communication and collaboration  
  • Ability to learn quickly  
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident  
  • Open to relocate for Sydney or Melbourne projects, with support  
  • Commitment to FDM's 2.5-year Graduate Program   
Nice to have:  
  • Python or SQL experience  
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, data modelling, or data quality concepts  

Working arrangement: office-based three to five days per week, depending on the client.
