About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Project Manager located in New York to support a project in the Financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months  but may be extended. 

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

About You

What is the position?
We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager to support execution across Data Governance and Data Modeling & Architecture–related initiatives within an enterprise data program. This role is focused on day-to-day project management rigor: building and maintaining project plans, running operating cadence, managing risks and dependencies, and producing clear, reliable status reporting. The Project Manager will work closely with data architects, data governance practitioners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure work is properly sequenced and execution stays on track.
 
Primary Responsibilities
•Develop and maintain integrated project plans for data governance and data modeling initiatives
•Track milestones, dependencies, and delivery readiness across multiple workstreams
•Coordinate sequencing of data governance and modeling activities with broader data platform efforts
•Produce concise, accurate status reporting for senior technical and business stakeholders
•Maintain RAID logs, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies
•Escalate risks and blockers early, with clear articulation of impact and options
•Run standing project and working sessions; track decisions, actions, and follow-ups
•Coordinate across architecture, governance, and engineering teams to keep work moving and aligned
 
Required Qualifications
•5+ years of experience as a Project Manager on complex, cross-functional initiatives
•Demonstrated hands-on ownership of standard project management artifacts and cadence
•Experience stepping into in-flight or partially formed initiatives and stabilizing execution
•Experience supporting enterprise data, analytics, or platform-oriented initiatives
•Experience working alongside data architects, data governance practitioners, and engineering teams in a non-design capacity
•Experience in financial services or similarly regulated industries
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to operate independently with minimal day-to-day direction
 
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
•Experience analyzing data with SQL or Python is a plus but not required
