About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Risk Manager – Digital Assets to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12‑month contract with the potential to extend and will be a on site role based in Dublin.
Our client is seeking an experienced specialist to lead and enhance the regulatory, compliance, and governance framework underpinning their digital‑asset activities, ensuring alignment with evolving EMEA regulations and internal risk standards.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, interpret, and communicate regulatory developments across EMEA, including MiCA, AMLD, FATF guidance, and relevant digital‑asset licensing regimes.
  • Conduct regulatory gap analyses and define enhancements to policies, controls, and procedures for digital‑asset operations.
  • Oversee regulatory‑related risk assessments for new products, services, and custody models.
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal on AML/CTF, sanctions, and financial‑crime controls specific to blockchain activity (e.g., mixers, privacy technologies, high‑risk wallets).
  • Support the preparation of regulatory submissions, supervisory responses, and audit documentation.
  • Contribute to incident‑management processes, including regulatory notifications for operational, cyber, or market‑abuse events.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise to cross‑functional teams on regulatory risk, digital‑asset classifications, and licensing implications.
 

About You

Requirements:
 
  • Strong knowledge of digital‑asset regulation, including MiCA, AML/CTF obligations, FATF Travel Rule, and jurisdiction‑specific licensing.
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory risk, compliance risk, or operational risk within financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
  • Familiarity with blockchain fundamentals, custody models, and digital‑asset risk factors (on‑chain analytics, smart‑contract risk, crypto‑counterparty risk).
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory language and translate it into practical policies and controls.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders and regulators.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant risk or compliance function.
