About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Solutions Analyst to work for our client within the Public Sector. This is initially a 6‑month contract with strong potential to extend and will be a hybrid role in Glasgow. Location can be discussed at interview but is dependent on space availability.

Our client is delivering a major digital transformation across Forensic Services, focusing on modernising accommodation, digitising operations and automating scientific workflows. This role plays a key part in gathering, validating and documenting business requirements, supporting procurement activity, and ensuring that emerging needs align with strategic ICT objectives.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Facilitate workshops and other engagement methods to elicit, document and manage user requirements into a unified statement aligned to ICT strategy
  • Analyse current business processes, systems and services to understand operational use and identify improvements
  • Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment and agreement
  • Support ICT teams by contributing to functional specifications, technical documentation and tender/procurement deliverables
  • Provide ongoing support to the project manager across planning, documentation and project lifecycle activities

About You

  • Educated to degree level, or a combination of relevant qualifications such as CBAP and substantial business analysis experience
  • Strong experience facilitating workshops, gathering requirements and producing structured business analysis documentation
  • Ability to analyse and document business processes, identify opportunities and prepare business cases aligned to strategic objectives
  • Experience supporting procurement activity including ITTs, ITQs and evaluating supplier responses
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Business Analyst or Business Solutions Analyst role within complex technical or public‑sector environments

Additional skills & knowledge

  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders at all levels, building strong working relationships
  • Ability to own and deliver business analysis work packages independently
  • Understanding of digital transformation within operational or scientific environments is desirable
