Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled Electronic Trading Specialist to join its front‑office technology team supporting FICC and global markets. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, and enhancing low‑latency electronic trading platforms used by traders across emerging markets and other asset classes. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on developer with strong business acumen, experience working directly with trading desks, and a deep understanding of electronic execution workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance electronic trading systems using Java.
  • Collaborate closely with front‑office traders, quants, and business stakeholders to understand trading strategies, execution flows, and market structure requirements.
  • Support electronic trading across FICC markets, including (but not limited to) commodities, equities, and other relevant asset classes.
  • Contribute to the build‑out of electronic execution algorithms, market connectivity, pricing engines, and order‑routing components.
  • Optimize system performance, latency, reliability, and throughput to meet evolving business needs.
  • Participate in end‑to‑end system design, including requirements gathering, architecture discussions, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot production issues in real time and provide rapid resolutions to minimize trading impact.
  • Work with emerging‑market trading teams to support specialized execution workflows and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7–10 years of hands‑on software development experience, with strong proficiency in Java (core Java, multithreading, low‑latency concepts).
  • Proven experience building or supporting electronic trading systems within a global markets environment.
  • Solid understanding of FICC markets, including commodities, equities, FX, rates, or other asset classes.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders—traders, product managers, quants, and operations.
  • Familiarity with market microstructure, electronic execution algorithms, pricing, and order management.
  • Experience supporting or developing for emerging market trading flows is highly preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and comfort working in a fast‑paced, front‑office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and business teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with exchange or venue connectivity (FIX, proprietary APIs).
  • Knowledge of low‑latency system design and performance tuning.
  • Exposure to distributed caching, messaging (Kafka, Solace, etc.), or in‑memory data stores.
