Quality Engineer
Ensure world-class product quality by combining manual testing, automation frameworks, and systemic thinking. You’ll:
- Apply coding skills to build automated test suites using tools like Java, Python, JavaScript, Selenium, Cucumber, REST-Assured, Cypress, or similar
- Work across software environments such as QA, UAT, staging, and production
- Use programming concepts to debug issues, write scripts, validate APIs, and work with CI/CD pipelines
- Design test strategies, analyze risk, and collaborate closely with developers and product teams
- Contribute to shift‑left testing practices, integrating quality earlier in the SDLC
- Support releases and monitor quality metrics across the full software lifecycle
A great Quality Engineer proactively designs systems and strategies to ensure holistic quality in software development. Strong QEs combine coding, automation, exploratory testing, environment knowledge, and systems thinking—often overlapping with SDETs to build quality in from the start.
Career progression often moves from Quality Engineer → Quality Architect or SDET or Software Engineer, with top profiles demonstrating expertise in automation frameworks, API & integration testing, DevOps tooling, and strong communication skills.
