About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an experienced Technical Analyst to work for our consultancy client within an end client demerger programme. This is initially a 4-month contract with good prospects to extend and will be a remote role.

Our consultancy client is seeking a Technical Analyst to join a major demerger programme, supporting a well‑known retail banking end client. This is an opportunity to work across a complex technology landscape, collaborating with senior technical stakeholders to shape solutions and guide strategic decision-making.

As a Technical Analyst, you will operate at the intersection of technology, architecture, and delivery. You’ll analyse infrastructure, applications, and technical requirements across a large and diverse environment, providing clarity, insight, and direction to project teams throughout the demerger.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document detailed technical requirements across infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
  • Map high-level technology landscapes and architectures, identifying dependencies, risks, and integration points.
  • Analyse a large application stack to determine solution impacts and demerger implications.
  • Work closely with Technical Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Engineering teams to support technical decision-making.
  • Identify and propose suitable technical solutions that align with programme goals and architectural standards.
  • Translate technical findings into clear documentation and artefacts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support planning and coordination across multiple technical workstreams during the demerger.

About You

  • Strong background in technical infrastructure, with confidence navigating networks, hosting, cloud, middleware, and related domains.
  • Experience gathering and analysing technical requirements in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
  • Ability to map and interpret high-level architecture, including systems, interfaces, integrations, and data flows.
  • Exposure to large application estates, ideally within financial services or similarly regulated sectors.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with PMs, Architects, Engineers, and senior technical leads.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify technical risks, gaps, and solution opportunities.
  • Experience working on major transformation or separation programmes (highly desirable but not essential).
