About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Data Analyst  to work for our client. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a remote role with occasional travel to London.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to play a key role in delivering high-quality, insight-led analytics that support strategic decision-making across the organisation. This role requires active SC clearance and will involve occasional travel to London. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders and crossfunctional teams to translate complex data into meaningful insights, drive measurable outcomes, and continuously improve reporting and analytics capability.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to uncover needs, clarify challenges, and shape solutions that support organisation-wide objectives.
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops and discovery activities to align on goals, performance measures, and outcomes that improve delivery confidence and behavioural focus.
  • Guide backlog sequencing and contribute to priority-setting to ensure work aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Anticipate risks and delivery issues early, proposing data-backed actions and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in analytics techniques, business analysis standards, and effective reporting practices.
  • Apply strong descriptive and diagnostic analysis skills, with growing application of predictive and forward-looking insights.
  • Establish measurable success indicators, benefit tracking frameworks, and performance monitoring approaches.
  • Own the design, enhancement, and optimisation of Power BI reporting and dashboard solutions.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver analytics solutions that drive tangible business value.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights to inform decision-making at both programme and enterprise levels.
  • Create automated reporting pipelines to streamline repeatable and manual reporting processes.
  • Contribute to the evolution of data platforms and reporting architectures to support scalability and future demand.
  • Coach and support developing analysts, championing best practice across data modelling, analytics, and visual storytelling. 

About You

  • Highly driven and proactive, with a strong appetite for ownership and professional growth.
  • Solid background in analysing, mapping, and improving business processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data and generate insights that are commercially and operationally relevant.
  • Hands-on experience delivering analytics solutions using Power BI, SQL, Python, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Strong capability to break down complex issues and communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading analytics initiatives, influencing senior leaders, and developing team capability.
  • Proven experience working across functions, ideally within Agile delivery models or using Agile methodologies.
  • Advanced IT proficiency, including extensive use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end software delivery lifecycles, from requirements gathering through to deployment and operational monitoring.
  • Ability to coordinate, inspire, and align teams to deliver outcomes efficiently and effectively.
