This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Business Analyst/Product Analyst located in New York City to support a project in the Financial Services  sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months  but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office days per week.

About You

Overview
FDM is seeking a Business Analyst / Product Analyst to support strategic technology initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost management, governance, and delivery excellence.
The successful candidate will work closely with business, technology, and operational stakeholders to drive data-driven decision making, support technology initiatives, and improve processes across a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Delivery
  • Gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements across technology initiatives.
  • Partner with software engineering, infrastructure, and operational teams to support solution design and delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery tracking.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and help ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
  • Develop process documentation, operational procedures, user guides, and workflow diagrams.
Product & Cost Optimization
  • Support product and operational initiatives focused on efficiency, utilization, and cost optimization.
  • Analyze technology spending, resource utilization, and operational costs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, track, and measure optimization strategies.
  • Assist in evaluating and prioritizing initiatives that drive business value and operational effectiveness.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Utilize data analysis tools and reporting platforms to assess operational, financial, and delivery performance.
  • Produce meaningful insights and reporting for business and technology leadership.
  • Analyze trends, KPIs, and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
Governance & PMO Support
  • Support project governance, reporting, and portfolio management activities.
  • Maintain project documentation within Confluence and other collaboration tools.
  • Track project deliverables, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Assist with executive reporting and stakeholder communications.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and governance best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Project Analyst, or similar role within technology-driven organizations.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong documentation skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, operational documentation, and technical writing.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and related collaboration platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Experience partnering with software development, infrastructure, and operational teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale technology, infrastructure, or operational transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of ultra-low latency trading infrastructure, colocation environments, or high-performance computing platforms.
  • Understanding of cost management, chargeback models, budgeting, or technology finance processes.
  • Product Management experience within a technology organization.
  • PMO or Project Management experience.
  • Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, networking, or platform operations.
  • Experience within financial services, capital markets, or other highly regulated industries is advantageous.

They are comfortable operating in fast-paced Agile environments, can analyze both operational and financial data, and possess the organizational skills needed to support complex technology initiatives from concept through delivery.
