FDM is seeking a Senior Product Manager located in New York City to support a project in the Financial Services  sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months  but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office days per week.

About the Role

Global investment bank with a leading presence across Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FIC). Its Investment Bank Technology organization supports mission-critical platforms for FX, Rates, Credit, Emerging Markets, and Listed Derivatives.

Within this organization, the Core Trading Technologies team owns a premier Ultra Low Latency (ULL) trading platform, operating across 12 global data centers in four regions. This platform underpins algorithmic execution, market data distribution, and post-trade services for multiple high-volume trading businesses.

The team is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead a strategic cost optimization and infrastructure transformation initiative across the Ultra Low Latency colocation environment. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct responsibility for protecting approximately €600M in annual trading revenue, while ensuring performance, resilience, and competitiveness are maintained at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver a global cost optimization program involving the strategic redesign of 12 data centers and approximately 1,500 servers, driving meaningful cost efficiencies while safeguarding revenue.
  • Own the product vision and roadmap for the Ultra Low Latency colocation platform, balancing cost reduction with the critical performance requirements of Rates, Listed Derivatives, and FX trading applications.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, trading, operations, and risk stakeholders to:
    • Gather and refine requirements
    • Prioritize initiatives
    • Translate strategic goals into executable delivery plans
  • Drive vendor consolidation, procurement strategy, and third-party management, ensuring compliance with internal policies and commercial best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to internal risk frameworks, technology standards, and external regulatory requirements, particularly related to infrastructure resilience and market competitiveness.
  • Track delivery progress, operational KPIs, and cost metrics, providing regular updates to senior stakeholders and driving continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate across regions and functions to execute effectively in a globally distributed, high-performance trading environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Information Systems, Information Technology Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology product or program management, ideally within financial services or complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with experience navigating matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and operate within high-performance, low-latency infrastructure and trading technology domains.
  • Demonstrated experience working with:
    • Software engineering teams
    • IT infrastructure and platform teams
    • Requirements gathering and solution delivery
  • Experience with vendor management, contracting, procurement, and procurement analytics is a strong advantage.
