About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior QA Engineer to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Glasgow.

In this role, you will be critical in ensuring the quality, performance, and stability of systems. You will help build and maintain an efficient testing process, identify opportunities for automation, and drive continuous improvement in the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with software engineers to define testing strategies, requirements, and best practices.
  • Manage test data, test cases, and test scripts for functional, performance, and regression testing.
  • Ensure robust integration and end-to-end testing across systems and platforms.
  • Drive the implementation of automation frameworks and ensure proper execution of automated tests.
  • Troubleshoot issues in test environments and provide timely resolution.
  • Maintain and improve the quality of the testing process through continuous feedback and optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality assurance standards and best practices.
  • Stay up to date with emerging tools and technologies in the testing domain and incorporate them where relevant.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, and Operations.

About You

Requirements
  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in a testing environment preferably within the financial services or tech industry.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG.
  • Solid understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git.
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive and results-driven mindset.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
