This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Production Support Engineer located in Chicago to support a project in the Financial SECTOR sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week.

About You

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled production services specialist to join our Equities Release & Deployment Management (RDM) team. The team provides application release deployment services for the portfolio of 200+ applications.

Responsibilities include managing the release deployment requests throughout their lifecycle. The role requires collaborating and partnering with peer support, development, and infrastructure teams across the globe. The role includes onboarding new applications for release deployments. Learn and utilize the in-house–built tool Chronos (which is built on top of the Cutover application) for release deployments. Onboard and support Start of Day (SOD) and Start of Week (SOW) application checks, and resolve documented issues while escalating to Level 2 application support teams when necessary.

The candidate should be able to identify and automate manual activities to improve efficiency. This role will be part of a team in Chicago, with a wider global team providing production services across core trading & technology locations. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate are required.

The candidate should have good knowledge of the Global Markets technology ecosystem and strong technical skills including Linux, Windows, SQL, Ansible, scripting, messaging platforms, and Autosys, as well as an understanding of the Global Markets Equities domain.

Since most of the work needs to be done outside regular business hours, the candidate needs to be flexible with working days and hours.

Working Days: Wednesday through Sunday

Working Hours: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. local time

Required Qualifications

* 5+ years of hands-on experience in Application support/development, ensuring stability for Global Markets applications in a global, team-oriented environment.

* Experience with distributed application platforms: Windows, Linux, SQL.

* Must be detail-oriented and able to follow documented release deployment steps accurately and without error.

* Experienced on monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Dynatrace

* Programming skills: Python, Unix scripting, Ansible  

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Knowledge of ITIL and SDLC principles and their execution

* Must have experience coordinating with offshore and onshore support, business, vendor, and infrastructure partners.

Desired Qualifications

* Must have hands-on experience providing direct support to Global Markets applications and performing release deployments. Results-oriented, must be able to effectively collaborate and communicate
