About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is undertaking a significant technology transformation, moving towards a cloud-first architecture and migrating core network infrastructure from on-premise datacentres into Azure and AWS environments. The successful candidate will join a high-performing Network Team, providing critical support across both business-as-usual operations and ongoing transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Provide technical expertise as a subject matter expert within the Network Infrastructure team.
  • Deliver high-quality support across enterprise networking environments, ensuring service levels and operational excellence are maintained.
  • Support and maintain LAN, WAN, firewall and cloud networking technologies.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise network performance and availability.
  • Perform trend analysis and problem management activities to identify and resolve recurring issues.
  • Develop and maintain operational processes, procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure networking solutions are secure, resilient and aligned with information security standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors and service providers to deliver network services and transformation objectives.

About You

  • Strong experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise LAN and WAN networking environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting cloud networking technologies, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, WAN, WLAN and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access, Global Protect and Panorama.
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP and VPN technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
