About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Delivery Manager – Specialty Lines Insurance to work for our client within the Insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London or Manchester.

Our client is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to oversee the successful delivery of strategic business and technology change initiatives across their Specialty Lines Insurance portfolio. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading complex programmes and workstreams, ensuring successful delivery through effective governance, stakeholder management, and cross-functional team leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale business and technology change initiatives within a Specialty Lines Insurance environment.
  • Manage delivery plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple workstreams.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, operations, compliance, and technology teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks, reporting structures, and delivery controls.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across business leadership, programme sponsors, and third-party suppliers.
  • Ensure delivery objectives are achieved on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Manage programme and project interdependencies, escalating and resolving delivery challenges as required.
  • Support business readiness, change management, and adoption activities.
  • Monitor and report on delivery performance, risks, and benefits realisation.
  • Promote continuous improvement and delivery excellence across the programme landscape. 
 

About You

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager within the Insurance industry, with significant exposure to Specialty Lines Insurance.
  • Strong understanding of Specialty Insurance products, including Financial Lines, Cyber, Professional Indemnity, D&O, Marine, Energy, Aviation, and other Specialty classes.
  • Experience working within London Market, Lloyd's, Commercial, or Specialty Insurance environments.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex business transformation, operational change, regulatory, or technology programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and engage senior executives.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across business and technology functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Proficiency with delivery and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Project.
  • Strong risk, dependency, budget, and resource management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience delivering large-scale change initiatives within the Insurance sector.
  • Relevant certifications such as SAFe, Agile, PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
