About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Architecture Implementation Lead to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

You will be joining the Group Architecture team in a leadership position. Group Architecture defines the strategic architecture direction and drive convergence towards a clear target state for the Bank, partnering with stakeholders to align business objectives with technology capabilities.

The Group Architecture team is a proactive partner to technology and business teams:

  •   Identify and address changing business requirements, opportunities from emerging technologies and industry trends
  •  Drive the integration of technology, systems, processes, and data in a risk weighted and cost optimized way
  • Establish and maintain architectures, principles, standards, tools and best practices
  • Assure and implement architecture alignment through structured control and assurance systems
  • Support teams across the bank to understand and adhere to architecture standards and best-practice

You will play a crucial role in establishing an effective operating model for the federated architecture teams and translating architectural designs into concise directives for the organization.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Leading the Group CTO Council (GCC) bringing together the Bank’s Domain Architects to drive the implementation of architecture standards
  • Collaborating with architects to distil complex technical information into concise and compelling content for diverse audiences
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, presentations and visual aids that effectively communicate architecture principles and decisions
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather feedback and refine architecture implementation direction based on evolving business needs
  • Working with the Head of Technical Architecture to drive architecture practices across the architecture and engineering community
  •  Delegate for the Head of Group Architecture as directed, representing Group Architecture on appropriate forms as required, and effectively communicating on behalf of Group Architecture

About You

  • Previous experience in a thought leadership role defining, operating and driving out architecture strategy.
  •  Deep knowledge of Financial Services architecture across many functions/businesses
  •  Well-developed business and requirements analysis skills, including excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (speaking and listening) and stakeholder management (all levels up to managing director)
  • Understanding of system and software architecture principles including knowledge of various architecture styles, patterns and frameworks.
  • Ability to manage often competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery
  •  Knowledge of the banking domain and associated end-to-end workflow and processes
