About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Analyst to work for our client within the Public sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Sheffield.

Our client is seeking Data Analysts to join the data quality team. The successful candidates will work predominantly with financial data, supporting the organisation's wider ambition to mature its data culture and data literacy. Our client is looking for people with a genuine interest in, and understanding of, good data quality and how to build processes that make clean data more accessible.

Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard development- building and maintaining dashboards to support business reporting and decision-making.
  • KPI tracking and metrics creation- defining, tracking and reporting on key performance indicators and metrics.
  •  Data management and data quality- maintaining accuracy, consistency and accessibility of data, and supporting processes that keep data clean and reliable.
  • Pipelines and automation- supporting the build and maintenance of data pipelines and automating manual data processes.
  •  Data analysis- analysing financial and operational data to generate insight for stakeholders across the bank.

About You

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant BI Developer role.
  • A genuine interest in data quality principles and how good data enables better decision-making.
  • Experience or strong interest in one or more of: dashboard development, KPI/metrics definition, data pipelines/automation, or data analysis.
  • Comfortable working with, or keen to develop skills in, financial data.
  • Strong analytical mindset with close attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a growing data culture and data literacy agenda.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including report and dashboard building, data modelling, and DAX.
  • Experience with the wider Microsoft Power Platform (e.g. Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse) to support workflow automation and data-driven solutions.
  • Comfortable connecting to and shaping data from multiple sources to support KPI tracking and reporting.

Nice to have: familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (e.g. Lakehouse, Data Factory pipelines, OneLake) and how it integrates with Power BI would be advantageous but is not essential.
