About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Release/Build Engineer (Batch Stability)to work for our client within the Banking & Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced Release/Build Engineer to support the Strategic Full Revaluation Capability (SFRC) programme. The role will be responsible for coordinating releases across multiple environments, ensuring deployment readiness, maintaining release governance standards, and supporting the successful delivery of market risk and regulatory reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, validate, and deploy release builds across development, test, UAT, and production environments
  • Coordinate release activities across Development, QA, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, and Business teams
  • Validate testing completion, approvals, documentation, and implementation readiness prior to deployment
  • Conduct dependency analysis to identify release risks, conflicts, and environmental impacts
  • Support release governance activities, including Release Reviews and Go/No-Go decision processes
  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, and release automation capabilities
  • Ensure production changes are implemented in a controlled, auditable, and low-risk manner whilst driving continuous process improvement initiatives

About You

  • Proven experience coordinating and delivering software releases across development, test, UAT and production environments
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tooling including Azure DevOps, Git, Bitbucket and Ansible
  • Experience with environment management, configuration management and deployment automation
  • Strong understanding of release governance, change management and implementation planning processes
  • Experience conducting release readiness assessments, dependency analysis and risk management activities
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating environments and deployment processes
  • ITIL Release Management and/or Change Enablement certification preferred
  • SAFe Agilist, SAFe DevOps Practitioner or Release Train Engineer certification desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple delivery teams
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in release management, build engineering, deployment management, or DevOps delivery roles
