About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Front End Developer to work for our client within the Finance and Pensions sector. This is initially a 6- month contract with the potential to extend and will be a Hybrid role that will be based in Birmingham.
 
Responsibilities: 
  
  • Develop, maintain and enhance modern front-end applications.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, back-end developers and business stakeholders.
  • Build responsive, accessible and performant user interfaces.
  • Translate business requirements and design concepts into scalable solutions.
  • Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews and adherence to best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to agile ceremonies.

About You

    • Strong commercial experience in Front End Development.
    • Expert knowledge of:
      • JavaScript (ES6+)
      • TypeScript
      • React
      • HTML5
      • CSS3 / SCSS
    • Experience building responsive and accessible web applications.
    • Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating front-end applications with back-end services.
    • Experience using Git and modern CI/CD practices.
    • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and agile delivery.
    • Experience within Financial Services, Wealth Management or Insurance.
    Desirable:
    • Knowledge of Azure cloud environments.
    • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Cypress or Playwright.
    • Exposure to design systems and component libraries.
    • Experience working within highly regulated environments.
