About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Power BI Developer to work for our client within the finance & insurance sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a Hybrid role that will be based in London. All candidates must hold Lloyds of London experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, data engineers, and product teams to translate business requirements into impactful reporting solutions built on strategic data platforms.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Design and build semantic models and reusable reporting datasets.
  • Create intuitive data visualisations aligned to business objectives.
  • Support the migration of reporting solutions to a Snowflake-based data platform.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather, refine, and document reporting requirements.
  • Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality and reporting issues.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation.
  • Provide ongoing production support for reporting solutions.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery through prioritised backlog items and sprint-based development.
Essential Skills
  • Strong Power BI development experience.
  • Demonstrable London Market insurance experience.

About You

  • Strong understanding of insurance data, reporting requirements, and business processes within the London Market.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, validation, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including schemas, views, tables, joins, and reporting optimisation.
  • Experience translating business requirements into reporting solutions.
  • Ability to support UAT and stakeholder sign-off processes.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
