About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to support a major transformation programme within the Financial Services sector. This is a 6 month contract and a hybrid role based in Cheshire, with approximately 50% onsite attendance required.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of strategic change initiatives focused on workplace pensions, working as part of a large-scale platform transformation programme. The successful candidate will operate across multiple workstreams, shaping business requirements, influencing key stakeholders and driving high-quality analysis outputs throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Lead analysis activities across large and complex business change initiatives.
  • Work within agile delivery environments, supporting squad-based delivery teams.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders across business and technology teams.
  • Produce detailed and high-quality analysis artefacts, including business requirements, user stories, process maps, scope documents and options papers.
  • Document user stories and acceptance criteria using Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) techniques.
  • Support and mentor Business Analysts, providing guidance on analysis approaches and deliverables.
  • Manage and re-prioritise analysis activities across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify effective business solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Support the successful delivery of strategic transformation objectives.

About You

  • Significant Business Analysis experience within Workplace Pensions.
  • Proven experience leading analysis activities on large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies and squad-based working practices.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience using a broad range of business analysis tools, techniques and standards.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and requirements elicitation experience.
  • Ability to work effectively within complex and fast-paced environments.
  • Strong documentation skills with experience producing high-quality analysis outputs.
  • Self-motivated with a strong delivery focus and ability to manage competing priorities.
Desirable:
 
  • Experience supporting pensions platform transformations.
  • Exposure to business process modelling and operational change initiatives.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring junior analysts.
  • Financial Services sector experience beyond pensions environments.
